Question: check_ping over a span of time

Hello,
IŽm trying to let check_ping check for a span of time. So that it takes the average result of the checks and then match it with the crit/warn variables.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Years ago I wrote one like this, called "milliping" because it was much more precise than the original; (can alarm on a fraction of a % packet loss, reports ping time to 0.01 second etc.)

I could have a look for it if you don't have any other responses.
